Sonny is the 'puppy swap' we did with Terry Stevens, he is a delightful little guy, who simply loves the show ring, and certainly lets everyone know. He has been shown at very few shows, gained Best Puppy, and also Best Terrier Puppy. During 2004 he only went to 1 Championship show, prior to his being shipped off to England with Monty, he was awarded CC & BOB under Dr Otto Hannibal-Friedrich., and then went on to Reserve Best in Show at Transvaal Terrier Club's Championship show which was held on the 9th May 2004.
Sonny went to his first show in England at W.E.S.W.A.T.C. where he was placed third, his second show was L.K.A. where he was second, and although it probably doesnt mean very much to people in England, he was entered at Crufts (2005) and to both Terry's & my joy he was 4th out of 6.
He stayed with Sanna Rosell at Top Hat kennels during 2005, he had been entered at a few shows during the year, but due to Sanna's business commitments, he was unable to attend them all.
He will be attending Crufts 2006, after which he will return to us in South Africa.
After his return to South Africa, he attended shows the weekend of his return where he was awarded his 2nd & 3rd CC's, along with a Res. Best of Breed, a Best of Breed and Third in Terrier Group.
Sonny gained his final CC in September 2006, also with placing in the Terrier Group.
During 2007 he was shown very sparingly (Under "Specialist" Judges.)
We will continue to show under "Specialist" judges, who know what an Airedale should be.
At the shows he has attended and awarded Best of Breed he has also been placed in the Terrier Group.
