"Normal" tawny coloured coloured Lioness with a 'White' Lion cub and a  'normal' cub.  It is quite possible for a tawny Lioness to give birth to both a white cub and tawny cub.  (I dont know if both these cubs belonged to this Lioness, as there was also a white lioness in the vicinity.  But Lions are well known for having "Aunties" to take care of the cubs, so neither may be her cubs, and they could both belong to the white Lioness.

VISITING LIONS
3 Month old cub, that is in a separate area along with two others, members of the public are allowed to touch the cubs, but not to pick them up.  Although they are still babies, they can inflict a nasty scratch or bite even in play.

Parents are asked to tell their children not to run in the vicinity of ANY wild cat, whatever the age.  I saw why again on Sunday... whilst waiting to enter the area where these cubs are, Hannah went to see the Hyena in another enclosure close by... the cub sitting by the fence watched her every movement.

Even at this age, they are on the look-out for prey, even though they really wouldnt have a clue what to do with anything, even if they caught it.

This was brought home to us first, when we visited the Cheetah Breeding Station, children under 6 were not allowed, I wondered why, until we went there with Hannah, who was just six.... whenever she moved, the Cheetah would follow her, and of course if she or anyone else ran.. well they were just asking to be chased.
Hannah with cub, who is a trifle hot.
Who says Lions dont climb trees?

This Lioness was just trying to catch whatever breeze there was....it was exceedingly hot on Sunday, in excess of 35C
White & Tawny cubs, the white cub has dark pigmentation and the normal tawny coloured eyes, which proves they are not albinos, who lack the dark pigmentation and have blue eyes.
This magnificent beast was less than 3 metres away , and completely ignored us.  But what we did notice was, that although they seem used to cars etc., let there be an unexpected noise from a car, then they will stop what they are doing and stare intently at the car.  We noticed this as my car does not like the heat and driving slowly, so we had to switch off the engine, and typical car when hot, wont start straight  away, and took a while before the engine fired, and we were stared at in no uncertain manner,  As much as to say "If you dont stop making that noise... I will come and stop it for you!"
One of two white Lionesses with the big male above.  She was not snarling, but eating grass.
Just like domestic cats, they play "King Of The Castle"
A 10 month old Leopard cub, who is "On Loan" to the Lion Park.  Big cats can be taught to walk in a harness quite easily, although when they pull.... they PULL... and no amount of saying no stop, wait.. will help, they are far stronger than a human.
Then of course there is MY favourite Big Cat, the Cheetah.
"Yours Truly" with Cheetah, taken some 40 odd years ago!!!!!  This cat was just wandering around the property, and was completely tame.  Sat next to me and purred.
